In 2017, he left his partnership with the Gerber Group at Kingside in the Midtown Viceroy Hotel and closed the Tribeca Landmarc to the public after 13 years, though it remains open for private events. The chef once owned five restaurants in Manhattan and one in Tampa, but his empire has since dwindled. The restaurant will serve its last meal July 22nd. Murphy did not immediately respond to request for comment. Last week, the chef posted a farewell to his 300-seat French- and Italian-accented bistro, but did not cite a reason for the closure. The Food Network star and Chopped judge announced that the Time Warner Center location of Landmarc is closing in July following a 12-year run in the building.
